Ford Mustang GTD (2025): Ein Kraftprotz Übertrifft Sich Selbst – Offizielle Zahlen Bestätigen Stärksten Mustang Aller Zeiten
Ford's Mustang GTD (2025) Emerges as the Most Potent Mustang to Date
Confirmed specs are in for the highly anticipated powerhouse
It's been over a year since Ford unveiled the Mustang GTD, teasing a performance of over 800 horsepower at 7,500 RPM. The official figures have now been released, and they're even more remarkable than Ford's initial projections.
The Mustang GTD's supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine produces an impressive 826 horsepower and delivers a hefty torque of 900 Nm to the crankshaft. This makes it the most powerful Mustang to date, straight from the factory. It boasts a higher horsepower per liter ratio than the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, which Ford explicitly identifies as a rival. Furthermore, this Mustang can reach top speeds of up to 323 km/h.
The engineering team at Ford achieved these impressive performance figures by installing a smaller supercharger pulley and revamping the intake and exhaust systems. Additionally, the engine is equipped with a dry sump oil system, a first for the Mustang, which allows for an increased maximum RPM of 7,650, up by 100 RPM.
Thanks to the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission located at the back of the car, it achieves an almost perfect balance with a 50:50 weight distribution. The power from the V8 engine is transmitted to the wheels through carbon fiber drive shafts, while the semi-active rear pushrod suspension, visible through the rear partition, maintains stability. The front suspension features a design with short and long control arms.
Ford manages to keep the vehicle's total weight low by extensively using carbon fiber in the construction of various parts including the front splitter, hood, fenders, side skirts, roof, trunk lid, and rear diffuser. Customers have the option to further enhance the car's aerodynamics and reduce its weight by opting for an additional performance package that includes a diffuser, a large splitter, a DRS system similar to those used in Formula 1, and 20-inch magnesium wheels.
Ford's efforts to complete a lap of the Nürburgring in under seven minutes could be boosted by these initiatives. It's worth noting that the current record for sports cars is 6 minutes and 43.300 seconds, set by a Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR. The only other vehicles that have managed to stay under the elusive seven-minute mark are the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series and a range of Porsche GT3 models.
Increased Strength in Ponies:
It's likely that only a select few will have the opportunity to drive this vehicle. Ford has kept the number of units it plans to produce under wraps, but it has disclosed that within a mere 37 days, it garnered over 7,500 applications from potential purchasers.
Prospective purchasers should be prepared to fork out a minimum of $325,000 for this unique Mustang.
