Fisker Ocean Owners Hit with Repair Costs Amid Recalls and Bankruptcy Woes
Owners of the Fisker Ocean electric vehicle who are subject to the recall will be responsible for covering the cost of repair work, as stated on the defunct car manufacturer's official website.
Initially noticed by Autoevolution, it has been noted on Fisker's official site that in the event of recalls necessitating hands-on checks and possible fixes, the car manufacturer agrees to supply the needed parts at no cost. However, due to their current financial reorganization under Chapter 11, Fisker will not be responsible for the expenses related to the labor for such inspections or repairs.

There's uncertainty about the timeline for part availability. Fisker aims to distribute these parts to "authorized service providers" by September's end, which probably isn't what owners awaiting repairs for several recalls were hoping for.
In June, Fisker issued three separate recalls for its Ocean model, one of which was due to a problem with doors potentially not opening. Furthermore, in July, another recall was announced, this time concerning a possible malfunction of the water pump, impacting a total of 7,545 vehicles.

The firm has committed to persistently roll out complimentary software updates via the air, capable of resolving certain issues sans the requirement for parts procurement or labor costs, exemplified by the regenerative braking problem that triggered an additional recall in August. Nevertheless, these updates might be limited to such repairs, potentially leaving the Ocean model in a perpetual beta state owing to incomplete software functionalities.
In the event that car manufacturers go under, financial reserves are typically established to manage any necessary recall repairs. However, in the case of Fisker, there are no dealerships to handle such issues, apparently leaving car owners to fend for themselves. It's probable that the remaining vehicles will be acquired by American Leasing, who has negotiated a purchase agreement with Fisker at a rate of $14,000 per car. It's possible that American Leasing may devise their own strategy to ensure these cars remain operational.
