Ducati Unveils Game-Changing GP14.2 at Aragon: A Glimpse into the Future of MotoGP
Ducati has announced that a significantly updated version of its Desmosedici MotoGP bike, named the 'GP14.2,' will make its first appearance at the Aragon race this weekend.
The modifications, which are expected to involve both the frame and the engine, represent the most significant updates since the season began. These changes are a precursor to the comprehensive 2015 redesign planned by the new Ducati Corse general manager, Gig Dall'Igna, which will be revealed during testing in Sepang next February.
As per a statement from Ducati, Andrea Dovizioso and his 2015 factory teammate Andrea Iannone, who is presently with Pramac, had their first opportunity to test the upgraded version of their Desmosedici, designated GP14.2, during a private session at Mugello on Tuesday.
"The statement mentioned that the two Italian motorcyclists would keep testing the bike throughout the Aragón race weekend."
As a result, Cal Crutchlow, who is set to join LCR Honda after the season, will not have access to the updates available to his current teammate, Dovizioso.
Dovizioso currently holds fifth place in the world championship standings, having achieved two podium finishes. He is only two points away from equaling his total score from 2013.
