On this day, two decades ago, March 31st, the iconic MotoGP racer Valentino Rossi embarked on his professional Grand Prix journey. His first race was in the 125cc category during the 1996 Malaysian Grand Prix, held at the Shah Alam circuit.

At 37 years old, Rossi stands as the most senior competitor in the MotoGP lineup, having secured nine world titles. Notably, he narrowly missed clinching the championship in the closing stages of the 2006 and 2015
