Kimi Raikkonen Makes an Uncommon Visit to the F1 Paddock
There were two individuals named Kimi present in the Formula 1 pit area at the Monza circuit.
All eyes were on Kimi Antonelli after he suffered a crash in the first practice session, ahead of being announced as Lewis Hamilton's replacement at Mercedes for the 2025 season.
However, ex-Formula 1 winner Kimi Raikkonen was notably present at a grand prix event for an uncommon visit.
"Indeed, I'm aware," Raikkonen shared with F1.com regarding the significant news from the other Kimi.
"Upon our arrival, someone mentioned that it had been announced!"
"It's wonderful. I believe we're seeing many new entrants coming into the scene next year, with numerous new drivers having inked deals with F1. This is beneficial for the sport and also fantastic to see an Italian joining the championship. It's positive for all involved, in my opinion."

'The Iceman', who is 26 years senior to Formula 1's latest recruit, Kimi, dedicated 19 years of his career to the sport, competing in two separate periods.
In 2007, he secured the drivers' championship driving for Ferrari, and to this day, he stands as the last champion for the Italian brand.
Mercedes' latest model bears resemblance to the new Kimi.
Raikkonen's journey to Formula 1 was marked by his relatively modest beginnings. This year, Antonelli swiftly moved up to Formula 2 and has been officially announced to join Formula 1 in the coming year.
Additionally, another racer from the Raikkonen family is emerging onto the scene.
The family moved to Italy to support their son Robin's aspiration. Robin is presently competing in go-kart races.
"Things are progressing well. Let's wait and see," said the elder Raikkonen.
"Whether it happens or doesn't, who can say? But the important part is, he's enjoying himself."
