National media reveals the application of unauthorized substances to enhance the appearance and durability of the berries
Officials in Golmud, located in Qinghai province, and in Jingyuan county, Gansu province, announced on Monday that they have established dedicated teams to probe into the matter.
"Golmud officials have stated that the findings of the investigation and the management of the case will be disclosed to the public promptly."
"Authorities will administer strict punishment to those found guilty of the crimes, in accordance with the law."
The food safety committee of Jingyuan has released a comparable announcement.
