Cadillac Lyriq 2025: Sleeker, Cheaper, and Electrified – A Look at the New Pricing and Trims
The 2025 Cadillac Lyriq eliminates its initial Tech trim level but balances this by reducing the cost of its other available trim options.
For the 2024 model year, the starting price for the Lyriq Tech was set at $58,590, although it was missing several features that have become standard on the newly introduced base model for 2025, the Luxury 1. The new base model has seen a reduction in price by $2,700, now coming in at $59,990, which accounts for the compulsory destination fee of $1,395. Additionally, there's a slight bump up to the Sport 1 variant, which is priced at $61,090, marking a decrease of $2,100 from its price in the previous model year.

Cadillac has reduced the starting prices for its Luxury 2 and Sport 2 models by $2,000, bringing them down to $64,990 and $65,490. Meanwhile, the premier Luxury 3 and Sport 3 models have seen a price drop of $2,220, now priced at $68,390 and $68,890, respectively.
The base model features a rear-wheel-drive system with one motor, delivering 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. For an additional $3,500, there's the option of a two-motor setup with all-wheel drive, increasing the performance to 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. Each Lyriq variant is equipped with a 102-kWh battery. It's expected that the EPA's estimated distances of 314 miles for the single-motor version and 307 miles for the dual-motor option will stay the same.

For the year 2025, the significant updates to the vehicle's gear involve the inclusion of OnStar communication technology and the addition of memory settings for the front passenger seat. The Luxury 2 and Sport 2 models will now come with a basic Technology Package, which encompasses a hands-free trunk and a mirror that doubles as a rearview camera. Additionally, there will be a wider array of colors available for the car's interior lighting system.
The 2023 model year saw the introduction of the Lyriq as Cadillac's inaugural electric vehicle, built on the Ultium platform by General Motors. Cadillac is expanding its electric lineup with the addition of models like the basic Optiq and the larger Vistiq with seating for more passengers. However, there are rumors that GM might be reevaluating its strategy to transform Cadillac into an exclusively electric vehicle brand by the year 2030.
