Brad Binder Secures Factory Red Bull KTM Spot Amid 2025 MotoGP Shake-Up: Manager Clears the Air on Contract Rumors
GASGAS Speculation? Brad Binder Confirmed to Have a Factory Red Bull KTM Deal for 2025
Amidst uncertainty voiced by KTM about rider placements for 2025, Brad Binder's representative sheds light on the MotoGP racer's contract status from South Africa.
At Barcelona, KTM motorsport director Pit Beirer surprised many when he opted not to quash rumors by officially confirming Brad Binder's position with the Red Bull KTM team for the 2025 season.
Last August, Binder, who has been riding for KTM since 2015 and joined their Red Bull-sponsored MotoGP factory team at the start of his major-league career in 2020, renewed his agreement to stay on until 2026.
"Beirer expressed immense pride at the time, highlighting the significant accomplishments and experiences shared together, and was thrilled that he chose to remain with the RC16 and continue in orange."
"We're thrilled to park that #33 motorcycle in the garage for several more years ahead."
As the speculation surrounding the 2025 MotoGP lineup persists, with notable riders like Jorge Martin and Marc Marquez still unsigned, Dorna's Jack Appleyard inquired with Beirer about the validity of the whispers suggesting Binder could switch from KTM's 'orange' team to GASGAS's 'red' squad.
Is Binder guaranteed to "absolutely stay in this [KTM] garage next season?"
"I truly cannot provide an answer to that," Beirer replied.
"Our perspective on the project is that, within our team, there are four spots available for MotoGP. Currently, we're unable to specify the exact positioning or assignment for each role."
"Thus, we simply examine the four locations and strive to optimize them."
The statement implies that the Pierer Mobility Group possesses the flexibility to assign Binder, their sole MotoGP racer confirmed for 2025, to either the Red Bull KTM or the GASGAS Tech3 squad.
Yet, when questioned regarding the matter, Binder's representative, Bob Moore, clarified to Crash.net:
Brad is under contract with Factory Red Bull KTM.
Binder, who propelled KTM to an impressive fourth-place finish in the previous year's world championship, currently holds the eighth position in the standings, trailing GASGAS newcomer Pedro Acosta by two spots and eight points.
Jack Miller, who is part of the South African's team, ranks 15th, while Acosta's teammate, Augusto Fernandez, is positioned 17th.
KTM, having not secured a victory in a dry grand prix since the Catalunya 2022 event, is currently engaged in a tight battle with Aprilia for the runner-up position in the manufacturer ranai-allcreator.com">kings, trailing behind Ducati.
