Adrian Newey Hails MotoGP Riders as ‘Superhuman’ Amidst F1’s Shift to Energy Efficiency
Adrian Newey: MotoGP Riders Are 'Superhuman'
F1 engineering marvel, Adrian Newey, highlighted the remarkable difference between the 'superhuman' performances of MotoGP athletes and the latest eco-friendly Formula One vehicles.
Newey expressed to The Telegraph, "Observing any sport should leave you in awe, marveling at the athletes' exceptional talents. Watching MotoGP, for instance, you're convinced the riders are beyond extraordinary. Unfortunately, that sense of awe is missing with the present generation of F1 vehicles."
Newey-designed Formula 1 cars have secured ten team championships across three separate teams. Red Bull's driver, Sebastian Vettel, clinched four consecutive world championships, yet the team is facing challenges with its 2014 Renault engine in a year where Mercedes has taken the lead.
Even though Newey has recently renewed his contract with Red Bull, there's ongoing speculation about his next steps following the news that he will be involved in undisclosed "new Red Bull Technology projects" in addition to providing guidance and mentorship for the development of the team's upcoming F1 vehicles.
