Yamaha appoints Paolo Pavesio to succeed Lin Jarvis as managing director in 2025
Paolo Pavesio has been appointed to take over Lin Jarvis' position at Yamaha.
Starting January 1, 2025, Pavesio is set to take on the role of managing director at Yamaha Motor Racing.
Before, he served as the Director of Marketing and Motorsport at Yamaha Motor Europe. During his tenure, he revamped the motorsport division, leading to subsequent world championship victories in World Superbikes, EWC, and MXGP.
Pavesio will take over from Jarvis, who has been the head of Yamaha for 26 years and is now stepping
Jarvis guided Yamaha to achieve eight championships for riders, six for constructors, and seven for teams. He managed the peak periods for the Japanese company with stars like Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, in addition to their latest triumph with Fabio Quartararo.
Despite stepping down from his role as managing director, Jarvis will continue to serve Yamaha in the capacity of Senior Advisor.
Takahiro Sumi, who manages the Motor Sports Development Division, expressed gratitude to Lin for his 26 years of dedication and accomplishments, both personally and on behalf of Yamaha.
His dedication, hard work, and leadership have played a crucial role in Yamaha's achievements in MotoGP, and I am pleased that we will continue to benefit from his expertise and experience in the future.
Paolo Pavesio is set to take over the position of Managing Director from Lin. Pavesio comes with extensive experience from his tenure at YME, where he served as Marketing and Motorsport Director and successfully led Yamaha teams to win World Championships in WorldSBK, EWC, and MXGP.
