Labour's Angela Rayner has been exonerated by His Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) following allegations that she did not pay capital gains tax when she sold her previous residence.
Earlier this year, allegations surfaced claiming that when she sold her former council house in Stockport in 2015, her actual main residence was at her husband’s address, located close by.
Ms. Rayner consistently refuted the allegations.
Sky News has learned that HMRC has verified she does not owe any capital gains tax following the sale and that no additional measures will be pursued against her, initially reported by the Guardian newspaper.

Following an investigation, Greater Manchester Police have concluded that Ms. Rayner committed no offenses in relation to accusations that she inaccurately recorded her address on the electoral register.
Initially, the police chose not to investigate the issue, but they began an inquiry following a complaint by Conservative MP James Daly, who presented them with allegations from neighbors that challenged the statements made by the Labour MP.
