**Title: “Marc Marquez’s Secret Weapon: How Gresini’s Team Atmosphere is Fueling His 2024 MotoGP Comeback”**
Gresini team identifies Marc Marquez’s “key to victory”
What has been a significant advantage for Marc Marquez in 2024?
According to Michele Masini, the sporting director for Gresini, the key factor contributing to Marc Marquez's potential success with the team in 2024 has been the positive environment within the garage.
Marquez, an eight-time world champion, made a bold move by leaving Honda a year ahead of schedule to join the Gresini team and ride a GP23 this season.
However, the decision seemed to yield immediate results, with Marquez consistently vying for a podium finish during the initial part of the season, eventually securing consecutive wins at the Aragon and San Marino Grand Prix events.
Following his triumph at Misano last weekend, Marquez has closed the gap to championship leader Jorge Martin to just 53 points, significantly boosting his presence in the title race.
Although Masini is cautious about making premature conclusions, he has revealed an important factor that is providing Marquez with a competitive edge over his opponents.
"I'd rather not consider it at this moment," he mentioned to Marca.
"The calculations will follow in due course, but it's also clear that this favorable position is benefiting us in the rankings."
"We'll evaluate our position following the second round at the Marco Simoncelli circuit during the Emilia Romagna GP."
"In Asia, the asphalt and conditions will differ. While we might approach things differently, it's essential to maintain our current course."
"I truly believe that the team's spirit is our strongest asset."
Marquez offered his win at Misano as a tribute to the late Fausto Gresini and his crew, stating it was the ideal method to show his gratitude for their trust in him.
Masini, a veteran within the Gresini organization, believes that Marquez’s victory at Misano—achieved on the team's home turf and after starting from the ninth position—feels as though he earned 50 points instead of just 25.
Following the conclusion of the San Marino GP, Masini expressed, "For 18 years, I have been a member of what feels like a family, and today is a significant day."
"It was a surprising triumph, as we definitely anticipated a return in Marc's usual fashion. However, given the track conditions, it took a champion of his caliber to navigate them effectively. Truly outstanding."
"Considering that we were competing on our home turf and using Fausto's vintage bike design, the experience was beyond words and invaluable."
"It's like he earned 50 points instead of just 25. We're experiencing an exceptional period, and he's loving his time on the Desmosedici."
“He’s incredibly quick, and the energy in the team is amazing. We need to keep this momentum going.”
