Tech Boss Max Bartolini Offers Unique Insights into Fabio Quartararo and Pecco Bagnaia’s Riding Styles and Personalities
Tech executive offers intriguing comparison between Fabio Quartararo and Pecco Bagnaia
Max Bartolini is well-versed in the techniques of both champions
A technical director who has collaborated with both Fabio Quartararo and Pecco Bagnaia has compared their skills.
Max Bartolini played an important role in Ducati's team before he took on the position of technical director at Yamaha.
Although Quartararo and Bagnaia were on bikes with distinct characteristics, their abilities were evaluated by an expert in the field.
In an interview with Motosprint, Bartolini commented, "When it comes to their riding techniques, both riders excel in braking. Pecco is particularly strong in the latter phase, while Quartararo excels in the more traditional aspect of braking."
"Bagnaia is more strategic in his approach, while Fabio relies purely on his natural talent and always pushes himself to the limit on the track."
"Pecco makes strategic decisions when necessary. Regarding his pace, I think Pecco hasn't fully tapped into his capabilities yet: I'm certain of this."
"On a personal level, they are quite alike: Quartararo is more sociable, while Bagnaia tends to be more reserved. However, both are exceptionally talented."
"If you collaborate with Pecco, it's difficult not to develop a strong affection for him."
"They possess quite a few common characteristics, such as their approach to teamwork. They look after their team members and show concern for their colleagues."
Bartolini commented on his experience working with Yamaha's top rider, Quartararo, stating, "In addition to his great strength, he is also very determined."
"On a personal level, he is extremely kind, occasionally to a fault. Sometimes he returns upset because he strives for perfection, but his frustration only lasts a few minutes."
"If you request him to complete a task, he promptly does it. He possesses remarkable talent in certain areas and is adept at swiftly navigating challenges. He excels at what he does."
Bartolini evaluated Quartararo’s teammate, Alex Rins, stating, "He is quite skilled as well. Unfortunately, he has been hindered by physical issues."
"He is quite sensitive about certain matters and is very systematic. It's evident that he has experience riding more bikes compared to Fabio."
"You recognize that the remarks pertain to his previous experiences."
"Working with him in the garage is always filled with humor. It's truly a pleasure to collaborate with both of them, and it feels great on a personal level."
“The atmosphere is pretty positive; you just need to increase your speed by half a second. If that happens, we should be in great shape.”
