Suella Braverman has decided against entering the race for the Conservative Party leadership, citing labels such as "mad, bad, and dangerous" that have been attributed to her.
It was anticipated that the ex-home secretary would enter the race, but she announced her decision not to, even though she secured the necessary support prior to the Monday 2:30 PM deadline.
"In her column for The Telegraph, she expressed appreciation for the 10 MPs who supported her nomination for leadership but noted that simply making it onto the ballot was insufficient."
"For better or worse, it makes no sense for someone like myself to pursue leadership of the Conservative Party when the majority of its MPs are not in agreement with my analysis and solutions regarding our problems and their resolutions."
Ms. Braverman attributed the party's poor performance in the election to shortcomings in handling migration, taxation, and issues related to transgender ideology.
"I've been labeled as insane, harmful, and sufficiently threatening that it's clear the Conservative Party isn't interested in listening to me. Therefore, I will take my leave at this point," she continued.
