Pecco Bagnaia Battles Neck and Shoulder Pain After Aragon MotoGP Crash with Alex Marquez
Pecco Bagnaia "in considerable pain" following collision with Alex Marquez at Aragon MotoGP
Francesco Bagnaia reported experiencing pain in his neck and shoulder after a crash involving Alex Marquez during the Aragon MotoGP.
Francesco Bagnaia has described the injuries he is suffering from following his collision with Alex Marquez at the Aragon MotoGP last weekend.
The pair encountered each other when Marquez veered off at turn 12 during the 18th lap of the Grand Prix. Bagnaia, who initially started in third place but fell to seventh due to a bad start, was working his way up through the racers and appeared poised to claim the third-place podium spot from Marquez.
The Italian rider attempted to capitalize on Marquez's mistake at turn 12 by making a move roughly a hundred meters later at turn 13. However, their collision resulted in both riders being forced out of the race.
Specifically, Bagnaia experienced a difficult tumble beneath Marquez's bike and subsequently visited the medical center.
In an interview with MotoGP.com following the Aragon race, Bagnaia mentioned experiencing "pain in my neck," but noted, "it could be much worse, so it's okay."

In an Instagram story where he discussed the accident, Bagnaia mentioned that his left shoulder was hurting.
"I capitalized on Alex Marquez's wide turn to overtake him and also entered the following corner with a broader line, aware that another rider was present. It's unfortunate that things turned out this way, especially since the weekend had already been challenging," Bagnaia said in a statement.
"Following a challenging beginning caused by the difficult conditions at that spot on the grid, I managed to stage a strong recovery and was significantly faster. At the moment, I'm experiencing considerable pain, particularly in my left shoulder, but it appears that nothing is broken."
"We will strive to be in top shape for the event at Misano."
As the San Marino Grand Prix approaches this weekend, Bagnaia has just four days to regain his physical condition before practice starts for his home race. This situation is quite similar to last year when he had a crash at the Catalan Grand Prix and came to Misano with leg injuries.
Last year, Bagnaia managed to secure third place in both the Sprint and Grand Prix races despite dealing with injuries. However, the impact of his recent crash at Aragon on his performance in Misano won't be evident until practice sessions begin on Friday morning.
