Leaders Chosen for Parliamentary Committees

On Tuesday, all 20 standing committees and four subcommittees in Parliament convened for their initial meetings to select their Chairs and Vice-Chairs.

A committee leadership, consisting of a Chair and up to four Vice-chairs, is chosen for a term of two and a half years. These committees handle legislative proposals, designate negotiation teams to hold discussions with EU ministers, approve reports, organize hearings, and oversee other EU agencies and institutions.

Foreign Affairs Committee
