Paolo Pavesio to Succeed Lin Jarvis as Yamaha Motor Racing Managing Director in 2025
Yamaha has announced that Paolo Pavesio will take over as managing director in 2025, succeeding Lin Jarvis.
Paolo Pavesio has taken over Lin Jarvis' role at Yamaha.
Starting January 1, 2025, Pavesio is set to take on the role of managing director at Yamaha Motor Racing.
He formerly held the position of Director of Marketing and Motorsport at Yamaha Motor Europe, where he reorganized the motorsport department. This reorganization led to the division securing world championships in World Superbikes, EWC, and MXGP.
Pavesio is taking over from Jarvis, who will conclude his 26-year leadership role at Yamaha.
Jarvis guided Yamaha to secure eight championships for riders, six for constructors, and seven for teams. He managed the peak periods for the Japanese company with stars like Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, along with their latest championship win with Fabio Quartararo.
Even though Jarvis is stepping down from his role as managing director, he will continue to serve as a Senior Advisor to Yamaha.
Takahiro Sumi, the General Manager of the Motor Sports Development Division at Yamaha, expressed his gratitude to Lin for his 26 years of commitment and accomplishments, both on a personal level and as a representative of Yamaha.
His dedication, hard work, and leadership have played a crucial role in Yamaha's achievements in MotoGP, and I am pleased that we will continue to benefit from his expertise and experience in the future.
Paolo Pavesio will take over the position of Managing Director from Lin. Pavesio, previously the Marketing and Motorsport Director at YME, has a rich background of experience, having led Yamaha teams to victory in WorldSBK, EWC, and MXGP World Championships.
"I am eager to have Paolo join YMR this January and believe that with his guidance, Yamaha can achieve the future successes in MotoGP that we are all aiming for."
