A date has been set. The successor to the Lamborghini Huracan is slated to make its first appearance on August 16, 2024, at the Monterey Car Week in the United States. This was announced by the Italian automaker themselves during the presentation of the mid-year report for 2024.
Details about the upcoming compact Lamborghini model are still scarce. However, it's confirmed that it will debut with a newly revealed V8 bi-turbo hybrid engine. There's also speculation that it might be named Temerario. Here's a summary of the latest updates:
Lamborghini has equipped the latest Huracan model with a twin-turbocharged V8 hybrid engine.
The latest sports car from Sant'Agata Bolognese is set to be a high-powered HPEV supercar, as dubbed by Lamborghini, an acronym for High Performance Electrified Vehicle. It is expected to finalize the "hybridization process of the product line."
Under the hood, the previously mentioned new V8 bi-turbo engine will power the beast, paired with a hybrid system. This system is referred to as the Lamborghini 634 project. An additional 150 horsepower is contributed by the electric motor, which is situated between the V8 engine and the dual-clutch transmission. The system is designed to deliver around 900 horsepower with a torque of 730 Nm, providing driving enjoyment at engine speeds ranging from 9,000 to 9,750 RPM and torque available from 4,000 to 7,000 RPM. At top speed, the new power unit will rev to five figures – hitting 10,000 RPM.
Despite the abundance of details regarding the powertrain, there's scant information available about the name. However, one title that has emerged is "Temerario," which the company trademarked with a unique logo on April 2, 2024.
