Downing Street announced that the new Labour administration plans to introduce over 35 pieces of legislation in its first King's Speech.
Following the pivotal event on Wednesday, where the King will unveil the party's agenda for governance during a grand ceremony, ministers vowed to prioritize economic expansion and to align their legislative efforts with their commitment to "rebuild Britain".
The proposed legislation encompasses commitments to enhance housing construction, upgrade transportation, boost employment, and ensure sustainable energy, aligning with the initial initiatives Sir Keir Starmer emphasized in his platform throughout the national election campaign.

Number 10 has announced a new legislative measure aimed at implementing stringent new fiscal policies. These are intended to promote economic expansion and prevent the turmoil that previously led to skyrocketing expenses for families and widespread hardship. The measure will enhance the authority of the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR).
The proposed law aims to "enable local areas to enact changes for their residents," with a commitment to "return authority to local officials who are most familiar with their community's needs."
There are indications that the proposed changes to the House of Lords may include mandatory retirement for members at the age of 80, as well as plans to phase out the inclusion of hereditary peers.
