Labour MP Lloyd Russell-Moyle has been temporarily removed from his party following a "serious complaint" lodged against him.
The Member of Parliament for Brighton Kemptown intended to contest his constituency once more in the next general election.
However, Mr. Russell-Moyle expressed concerns that there wasn't "sufficient time for me to defend myself because these procedures in the party are too protracted."

The specifics of the grievance have not been disclosed, but according to Sky News, the complaint was filed last week and is currently under investigation.
In a statement on social media, Mr. Russell-Moyle expressed his belief that the complaint regarding his conduct from eight years prior was "groundless and driven by political motives."
He asserted that the accusation was "completely unfounded and, in my opinion, intended to interfere with the election."
He stated: "I plan to collaborate with the investigative process to exonerate myself, and I will use this chance to engage in public service in new roles, hopefully under a Labour government."

Since 2017, Mr. Russell-Moyle has represented Brighton in Parliament, holding positions such as shadow foreign minister during Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership and shadow environment minister in Sir Keir Starmer’s initial cabinet.
