KTM Closes Door on Marquez and Martin Speculations: Prioritizing Current Riders’ Development

KTM explains their position on acquiring Marc Marquez or Jorge Martin

"At this point in the season, our aim is to elevate our four riders to their highest potential"

KTM has stated that acquiring either Marc Marquez or Jorge Martin is not feasible.

KTM motorsport director Pit Beirer's announcement at the Catalunya MotoGP has effectively closed a significant opportunity for the pair of Ducati riders.

Gresini's Marquez and Pramac's Martin both aspire to ride Enea Bastianini's official motorcycle by the year 2025.

However, Ducati's decision to select three leading racers implies that two will face disappointment, and KTM has been suggested as a potential destination for those who do not secure their primary motorcycle.

Beirer revealed in Barcelona, stating, "I was questioned whether our team would bring on Jorge Martin or whether we would recruit Marc Marquez."

I made an effort to distance myself from this conversation. My intention was not to appear as this significant individual capable of having someone like Martin or Marquez. I believe it's not possible.

"I seized the opportunity to safeguard our cyclists. Ensuring our four athletes reach their peak performance is our primary drive."

"Our goal is to help Brad achieve his aspirations, and the same goes for Jack and Augusto. At this point in the year, our focus is on pushing all four of our guys to their peak potential."

"And to avoid conversing with other cyclists, aiming instead to motivate our current riders."

KTM has secured both Brad Binder and Pedro Acosta with extended contracts, while the agreements with Jack Miller and Augusto Fernandez are set to conclude by the end of the current year.

Beirer emphasizes that the global MotoGP community is eagerly anticipating Ducati's announcement regarding their rider selection for the 2025 MotoGP season.

The outcome will undoubtedly see two attractive competitors looking for an alternative strategy.

Beirer emphasizes that he is observing with great attention.

He also mentioned, "Individuals associated with Ducati, including the riders, are anticipating decisions."

"Everyone in the field is keeping an eye out. Definitely, there will be some action afterwards."

Leaders are poised to spring into action, particularly for individuals who miss out on the red mark. It's a captivating and thrilling juncture.

"I'm optimistic that the field will even out, and every manufacturer will have their own standout rider. We've already got top talents."
