"Today, it is with great sadness that I announce my decision to step down from the Labour Party."

Last week, former Brighton Kemptown MP Lloyd Russell-Moyle was informed that he is ineligible to run for re-election after the Labour Party suspended him due to what he described as a baseless and politically-driven accusation.

Labour has officially announced that the ally of Jeremy Corbyn and the first black woman to serve as an MP in the UK has been selected as the candidate for her district, a position she has held for 37 years.
The management of the campaigns of both Ms. Abbott and Ms. Shaheen led to the departure of seven Labour councillors in Slough, who alleged that the party was engaging in racist practices.
When questioned about the recent resignations on Tuesday, Sir Keir Starmer emphasized, "We have exceptional Labour groups in each constituency, vigorously campaigning for votes in the current general election."
He stated, "Our performance is strong, and we're presenting a compelling case regarding the options facing the nation."
