The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) recently conducted crash tests on a number of large SUVs known for their high fuel consumption, including the Chevrolet Tahoe, Ford Expedition, and Jeep Wagoneer. Despite their robust appearances, these vehicles, which generally achieve less than 20 miles per gallon, did not all meet safety expectations. Only the Jeep Wagoneer earned the highest "good" rating from the IIHS.
