Ducati’s Strategic Dilemma: Choosing Between Marquez, Martin, and Bastianini for the 2025 Line-Up
Speculation grows that Ducati's approach has evolved amid pivotal decision on rider's future
Update on Enea Bastianini's prospects to secure the 2025 premier Ducati seat
It has been reported that Ducati is interested in retaining two out of their three current riders for the official team lineup in 2025.
Enea Bastianini, who currently holds the factory Ducati ride, is warding off attention from Gresini’s Marc Marquez and Pramac’s Jorge Martin.
Ducati's leadership is anticipated to make a determination by the close of May.
Carlo Pernat, the experienced manager of Bastianini, has disclosed his hypothesis regarding a shift in Ducati's strategies.
"Pernat mentioned to GPOne that Ducati's upcoming choice, expected to be made post-Mugello GP, is causing a standstill for several teams including KTM, Aprilia, and Yamaha."
Nobody is interested in entering into formal agreements. Potentially, there are verbal commitments, which hold the significance they possess…
"I get why Ducati is in a position where they're holding onto their three top-notch racers. Initially, they might have considered letting two go, but it seems they've shifted their perspective now.
"It seems to me that Ducati is inclined to retain two of their riders, thus likely exerting influence, particularly on Pramac.
"Yamaha is making significant efforts through Paolo Campinoti. It's anticipated that discussions will occur soon, likely before the Mugello race, where Pramac is expected to make a decision regarding their next steps."
Pramac is deliberating on whether to extend their partnership with Ducati as a satellite team or switch to Yamaha starting in 2025.
Should they opt for Yamaha, the possibility of using a 2025 model Desmosedici is no longer available to Marquez, Martin, or Bastianini.
Bastianini's representative emphasizes that he is still very much in contention.

As we approach this weekend's Catalunya MotoGP event, Bastianini and Marquez are neck and neck in points, trailing the championship frontrunner Martin by 40 points.
"Pernat believes that Ducati's delay in maai-allcreator.com">king a decision indicates their continued faith in Bastianini."
However, he's been preoccupied with exploring alternative paths, in case Ducati's major choice doesn't pan out as expected.
"He mentioned that moving to Pramac and getting a factory bike might be an option, though it's not guaranteed."
"As a manager, I'm hearing the allure from Aprilia, KTM, and Yamaha beckoning."
"It's undeniable that Aprilia possesses significant features."
