Christian Horner Cleared: Appeal Against Red Bull Team Principal Dismissed After Thorough Investigation

Challenge to Christian Horner's reported misconduct rejected

Red Bull GmbH announces "the appeal procedure has been fully completed"

The complaint filed by a woman employee alleging improper conduct by Christian Horner has been "rejected."

Following Horner's exoneration, the woman staff member initiated an appeal in March.

Horner has steadfastly maintained his innocence, continuing in his position as the team principal for Red Bull for the 2024 Formula 1 season.

On Thursday afternoon, Red Bull GmbH announced in a press release that a complaint made earlier in the year against Christian Horner had been addressed. The company responded by initiating its grievance process, which involved appointing an independent King's Counsel (KC) to review the matter. The KC ultimately found no grounds for the complaint.

The individual filed for an appeal, which was then conducted by an alternate independent KC. The entire appeal procedure has been completed, resulting in the decision not to support the appeal. Red Bull has agreed to and implemented the findings of the KC. The internal procedure has now ended.

"The organization values the confidentiality of every staff member and has chosen not to provide additional statements on this issue for now."

"Red Bull pledges to uphold the utmost standards in the workplace."

The scandal marred the beginning of the season for Red Bull, sparking widespread rumors about Horner’s career prospects.

Additionally, this led to Jos Verstappen hinting that his son, Max Verstappen, might switch to Mercedes.

Chronological sequence of occurrences:

In the early stages of February, Red Bull's plans for the 2024 Formula 1 season were shaken by emerging reports of alleged misconduct towards a woman staff member.

Merely a week and a half prior to the unveiling of their latest vehicle, Red Bull disclosed that Horner is under scrutiny.

Horner attended the unveiling of the RB20 later that month, subsequently refuting all claims unequivocally.

The narrative progressed into the season's inaugural Bahrain Grand Prix weekend, where reporters, F1 executives, and various personnel involved in the sport received a document containing supposed materials.

The content included purported messages, screen captures, and photos from a WhatsApp conversation that Horner was part of.

During the racing event in Bahrain, Horner alongside his spouse, Geri, were observed clasping hands, displaying a gesture of unity.

By the close of February, the claims were rejected, exonerating Horner from any misconduct.

The individual who accused Horner faced suspension and then initiated an appeal in mid-March.

After a period of five months, the challenge to Horner's case has been rejected.
