Yamaha Announce Paolo Pavesio as Successor to Lin Jarvis; New Managing Director to Take Helm in 2025
Yamaha appoints new managing director to succeed Lin Jarvis
Paolo Pavesio set to take on the role in 2025
Paolo Pavesio has been appointed to take over Lin Jarvis' role at Yamaha.
Starting January 1, 2025, Pavesio is set to take on the role of managing director at Yamaha Motor Racing.
He formerly held the position of Director of Marketing and Motorsport at Yamaha Motor Europe, where he revamped the motorsport department, leading to subsequent world championship victories in World Superbikes, EWC, and MXGP.
Pavesio is set to take over from Jarvis, who will conclude his 26-year leadership at Yamaha.
Jarvis guided Yamaha to secure eight rider championships, six manufacturer championships, and seven team championships. He managed the peak years of the Japanese company's success with Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, and also their latest championship win with Fabio Quartararo.
Despite stepping down from his role as managing director, Jarvis will continue to serve as a Senior Advisor for Yamaha.
“On a personal level and representing Yamaha, I extend my gratitude to Lin for his commitment and contributions throughout the last 26 years," stated Takahiro Sumi, who serves as the General Manager of the Motor Sports Development Division.
His dedication, hard work, and leadership have played a crucial role in Yamaha's achievements in MotoGP. I am pleased that we will continue to benefit from his expertise and experience in the future.
Paolo Pavesio is set to take over from Lin as Managing Director, bringing extensive experience from his tenure as Marketing and Motorsport Director at YME, where he led Yamaha teams to win World Championship titles in WorldSBK, EWC, and MXGP.
"I am excited about Paolo joining YMR in January. With him at the helm, I believe Yamaha can achieve the MotoGP success we are all aiming for."
