Lance Stroll highly praises Aston Martin to Adrian Newey
"Adrian Newey is sought after by everyone in this paddock."
Lance Stroll maintains that Aston Martin is an "exciting" venture when questioned about the speculated interest in Adrian Newey.
The chief technical officer of Red Bull is set to depart from his position at the beginning of next year, and various ambitious Formula 1 teams in the paddock are keen to recruit him.
The potential hiring of Newey might greatly enhance the aspirations of a new team for their 2026 vehicle, coinciding with the introduction of new regulations.
According to The Telegraph, Aston Martin showed Newey around their Silverstone premises and discussed his salary terms with him.
Lance Stroll, whose father Lawrence owns the racing team, commented during the F1 Spanish Grand Prix, "Everyone here wants Adrian Newey."
He mentioned to the reporters, "I get most of my information from you all!"
"Last week, I heard rumors that he was joining Ferrari. Now they're saying it's us, and next week they'll probably claim it's Williams!"
"I'll listen to what you all have to say. Please, share more details with me."
Stroll remarked about Newey: "He's an icon in the sport. He has secured more championships than anyone else here, whether they be drivers, engineers, or any other personnel…"
"Adrian is adored by all and desired by everyone."
Aston Martin refrained from addressing Newey directly, though a spokesperson remarked: “The Aston Martin Aramco F1 team is an enticing endeavor, driven by Lawrence Stroll’s vision, featuring a cutting-edge Technology Campus, and boasting exciting collaborations with Aramco and Honda.”
"Numerous prominent figures from various sections of the team are associated with the project, but there are no official announcements at this time."
According to reports, Ferrari is also interested in hiring Newey.
However, Stroll emphasized that Aston Martin presents him with a captivating opportunity.
"We have an incredibly thrilling manufacturing facility," he stated.
"It's a team full of youthful energy and potential, making for a thrilling endeavor. The wind tunnel…"
Stroll emphasized that the team has undergone significant changes since he became a part of it in 2021.
"You've seen its previous state and can see how it appears currently," he remarked.
“It’s amazing to witness.
"We need to increase the car's speed to make it more thrilling."
