Norris shared with Sky Sports his thoughts on Friday at the Red Bull Ring, saying: “It was fairly decent. I didn't feel fully at ease until my last lap."
"Max put in a great lap. It sets him up well for tomorrow."
When questioned about his chances of competing against Verstappen for a win on Saturday, Norris confidently responded, "Based on what we've observed so far? Yes…"
On Friday in Austria, Piastri experienced a remarkable return to form and commented, "The current standing is undeniably favorable."
"In the final lap, there were a few turns that I could have navigated more cleanly."
"Last weekend was challenging, but we're back up to speed now."
"The recently introduced front wing is performing effectively."
Piastri was questioned about whether he could compete for a win in the sprint race on Saturday.
"I believe so," he remarked. "The distance to Max isn't huge."
"I realize there were a few errors during that lap, but we are certainly in contention."
Andrea Stella, the head of the McLaren team, commented, "The qualifying round presented challenges. Completing the lap was not straightforward."
"We are pleased with this outcome. As usual, Max delivers an excellent performance, which we greatly admire."
"Analyzing the data from the sprint qualifying, it appears that Lando and Oscar have room for enhancement."
"The outcome of the sprint race will be influenced by the temperature."
