Harmony in the Paddock: Crafting a Win-Win for Marquez, Ducati, and Their Star Riders Beyond 2024
Ducati reveals strategy for maintaining all top riders through 2025: "A method to satisfy all parties involved."
Insights on Marc Marquez and Ducati's roster approach unveiled.
A proposal aimed at satisfying all parties involved in the discussion regarding Marc Marquez’s career prospects has been put forward.
Gresini's rider Marquez and Pramac's Jorge Martin are both contenders to fill Enea Bastianini's spot in the official Ducati squad.
This year, Marquez is competing on a GP23, yet he has explicitly stated his desire for the most current model equipment by 2025.
"Simon Crafar believes that to satisfy most people, giving Marc a factory bike at Gresini would be the best approach," he shared from the French MotoGP paddock in Le Mans.
"He doesn't need to switch from Red Bull."
Marquez receives sponsorship from Red Bull, which competes with Monster, an energy drink brand that collaborates with Ducati.
Crafar added, "The major uncertainty revolves around Enea and Jorge. What's going to unfold with them?"
"It's evident that Jorge is unaware."
Martin secured victory in the French MotoGP, thereby widening his lead in the championship standings, while Marquez claimed the second spot following a skillful overtaking maneuver on Francesco Bagnaia towards the end of the race.
"Crafar commented, 'In both the sprint and the race, we witnessed Marquez at his classic best. It was absolutely wonderful.'"
"The maneuvering, followed by surpassing Pecco, was spectacular. Pecco is an excellent rider, making it a challenging spot.
"He maneuvered by slowing down diagonally at the turn. This approach offers a more direct path. It's possible to apply the brakes with equal force while on a slight incline, just as one would vertically. That was his technique."
"He directly headed there to outpace Pecco to the destination.
Upon reaching your destination, you find yourself incorrectly angled. This necessitates additional maneuvering at the halfway point.
"He managed to halt it, then executed a perfect turn. It was an incredible display of talent, especially against an opponent known for their speed."
"Marc is ready to elevate his game in all aspects, particularly in surpassing his competitors."
Marquez has announced that his transition from Honda to Ducati is complete.
Despite not securing a victory for the Italian brand yet, he has consistently made it to the podium in numerous sprints and Grand Prix races this season.
Marquez trails the championship frontrunner Martin by 40 points following five rounds.
"Crafar mentioned that Marquez found it more challenging to get accustomed to his new motorcycle."
At the start of the year, he cautioned that the journey ahead would be challenging.
"He has shared his target figures with us."
"Now, you can tell he's joyful as he possesses the velocity of a victor."
"Had he managed to overtake Diggia more smoothly, swiftly, and neatly, he would have gained a few laps to relax, allowing his lactic acid levels to decrease and the tyre temperature to cool down, preparing him for an attempt."
"His joy comes from possessing such speed."
