Lewis Hamilton has dismissed the possibility of fashion label Tommy Hilfiger becoming a sponsor for him with Ferrari.
Hamilton is set to depart from Mercedes at the conclusion of this year, marking the end of his 12-year tenure with the team.
The seven-time world champion is set to join forces with Charles Leclerc at Ferrari in 2025, creating a formidable team.
There has been considerable discussion regarding which Mercedes engineers and staff members will accompany him to Maranello.
Sponsors have also been a subject of interest.
Due to Hamilton's global reputation, he has drawn numerous partners and sponsors to the Mercedes team.
Hamilton and Tommy Hilfiger share a strong bond, often partnering on various fashion projects.
It seems that Tommy Hilfiger has no plans to join Hamilton at Ferrari.
During an interview at the Spanish Grand Prix with select media outlets, including Crash.net, Hamilton provided clarity on the sponsor situation.
"I’m not sure,” he mentioned. “I’m uncertain about my role with the team. It’s been a while since I introduced them to the group."
“We’re continuing our collaborations with emerging designers this year. In fact, we have one planned for this weekend.”
“I’m not sure what the team’s strategy is, but we likely have our own agenda, so they won’t be joining us at Ferrari.”
Before the Spanish Grand Prix, a new collaboration between Tommy Hilfiger, Mercedes-AMG F1, and Clarence Ruth was unveiled.
Employees of Mercedes will be dressed in pieces from the collection created by Clarence Ruth.
Addressing the matter, Tommy Hilfiger mentioned that Clarence Ruth is an exceptional talent. He noted that it has been amazing to observe Ruth's development since their collaboration began during the Tommy Hilfiger New Legacy Challenge in 2022.
"This collection merges the worlds of fashion and motorsports through Ruth's innovative perspective. It features timeless pieces influenced by the rising stars of the future."
