**”Ducati’s 2025 MotoGP Gamble: Dall’Igna Confident Despite Losing Pramac, Banking on Marquez and Bagnaia”**
Dall'Igna: Loss of Pramac compensated by ‘the best riders in Ducati history’ for MotoGP 2025
Gigi Dall’Igna anticipates the upcoming factory Ducati team for next year's season
Ducati's general manager, Gigi Dall’Igna, mentions that the company will be at a disadvantage in 2025 without Pramac. However, this is balanced out by having what he considers the best riders in the history of the brand's MotoGP involvement.
This summer, the leading team in MotoGP made waves in the 2025 rider market by reversing its decision to elevate Jorge Martin to its factory team, opting instead for Marc Marquez.
As a result, Martin joined Aprilia, and the Pramac team, which receives factory support, decided to establish a satellite partnership with Yamaha for 2025.
This implies that Ducati will field six motorcycles on the track next year, down from eight. Their factory team will consist solely of Francesco Bagnaia, Marquez, and VR46’s Fabio Di Giannantonio.
Dall’Igna admits that Ducati will be at a disadvantage in 2025 without Pramac, but believes the benefits gained by the factory team outweigh this setback.
"We're likely the pioneers in utilizing satellite team data to enhance the motorcycle, and naturally, our chances to continue this in the future are limited," Dall’Igna stated to motogp.com.
"The other producers realized that achieving something like this was feasible, and thus, this is the current situation."
"In general, we will be at a disadvantage next season since we will have fewer riders compared to this year."
"On the flip side, our factory team will likely feature the most outstanding riders in Ducati's history."
"The other teams are not just taking our riders, they're also recruiting many of our technicians. Yamaha, Aprilia, and Honda are doing this now. This definitely motivates us to put in our best effort."
As the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix approaches this weekend, Ducati holds the top four positions in the riders' championship standings. Pramac's Martin is in the lead, with a seven-point advantage over Bagnaia.
In 2024, Ducati has triumphed in all but one of the Grands Prix held so far, making Dall’Igna “extremely pleased and proud of our accomplishments”.
Dall’Igna Confident Ducati Can Manage Bagnaia and Marquez Dynamics in 2025
Not long ago, two-time world champion Bagnaia remarked that Marquez joining the official Ducati team “could be extremely positive or a complete catastrophe.”
Dall’Igna concurs with Bagnaia's evaluation, but he is assured that Ducati can handle any potential friction between the two.
Dall’Igna mentioned that he, Mauro Grassilli, and Claudio Domenicali had extensive discussions to determine the best course of action regarding Ducati’s choice to sign Marquez, who secured his initial victories for the brand at Aragon and Misano.
"It's certain that we can choose just one rider, and ultimately, the choice will be Marc. We're genuinely pleased with this outcome."
"I truly concur with Pecco's opinion. Both of them are undoubtedly among the top competitors in the championship, and their personalities are exceptionally strong."
"It's crucial that we handle them effectively over the coming year."
"To be frank, I truly believe that we can handle this situation and, ultimately, I am optimistic that this will turn out to be a fantastic year for Ducati rather than a catastrophe."
