Officials in Golmud, located in Qinghai province, and Jingyuan county in Gansu province, announced on Monday the formation of dedicated teams to probe into the matter.
"Golmud officials announced that the findings of the investigation and the management of the case will be disclosed promptly."
"Authorities will impose strict penalties on those found guilty of the crimes, in accordance with the law."
The food safety committee in Jingyuan released a comparable announcement.
