Officials in Golmud, located in Qinghai Province, and Jingyuan County in Gansu Province announced on Monday that they have established dedicated task forces to probe into the matter.
"The Golmud officials stated that they will disclose the outcomes of the investigation and the details of the case management promptly."
"Individuals guilty of these crimes will face strict penalties as mandated by the law."
The food safety committee in Jingyuan released a comparable announcement.
