Audi Celebrates 25 Years of RS Innovation with Limited Edition RS 4 Avant: A Powerhouse in Imola Yellow
Audi RS 4 Avant Edition 25 Years (2024): A Yellow Tribute
A limited run of 250 units for Europe with an extra 20 horsepower for the anniversary
In the 90s, Audi pioneered the performance station wagon concept with the launch of the Audi Avant RS2 and Audi S6 plus. The first RS series model produced by quattro GmbH (now known as Audi Sport GmbH) was the RS 4 Avant from the B5 generation, introduced in 1999. This model distinguished itself from the Audi S4 with its wider body and a 2.7-liter biturbo V6 engine, developed in collaboration with Cosworth, delivering a then-impressive 380 horsepower.
In 2001, the original RS 4 model series saw the introduction of its most athletic variant, the RS 4 Sport. This version came with enhancements such as a lower suspension, bucket seats, a sporty exhaust system, and a suede steering wheel. The distinctive design of this car inspired Audi to create the RS 4 Avant Edition 25 Years, which represents the pinnacle of performance within the current B9 series.

Increased Power
Advancements in the engine, suspension, and tires contribute to an outstanding driving experience. The V6 twin-turbo in the latest RS 4 Avant Edition 25 Years generates 346 kW (470 hp) with a peak torque of 600 Newton-meters. This represents an increase of 15 kW (20 hp) over the RS 4 Avant.
The special RS model from the series accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, shaving off 0.4 seconds from the regular RS 4 Avant's time. It can reach a top speed of 300 km/h, and comes equipped with a standard RS ceramic braai-allcreator.com">king system for efficient deceleration. According to Audi, the RS sports exhaust system plus with matte black tailpipes offers a more profound sound experience.
Enhancements to the Suspension System
The Audi RS 4 Avant Edition 25 Years comes standard with the RS sport suspension pro, a manually adjustable coilover suspension designed to deliver an optimal balance between comfort and performance. This anniversary edition sits an additional 10 millimeters lower than the RS 4 Avant. Additionally, there's an option for a manual lowering of the ride height by another 10 millimeters, totaling a 20-millimeter reduction from the standard model's height.

The Quattro Sport differential is also included. Depending on the driving mode selected, it emphasizes rear-wheel dynamics. The updated software in the transmission control unit results in shorter shifting times and creates a noticeably wider range of differences between each driving mode.
For the special edition model, the camber on the front axle has been increased to two degrees, and more rigid bushings have been installed in the control arms. This leads to improved grip, enhanced handling, and as a result, the vehicle can achieve higher speeds when cornering. According to Audi, a rigidly mounted subframe at the rear axle ensures more precise feedback from the suspension system and boosts overall performance. The upgraded torque differential also contributes to this enhancement.
Tires with a Personalized App
The RS 4 Avant Edition 25 Years comes standard with high-performance Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, designed for both road and race track use, ensuring peak performance is delivered on any surface. These tires are mounted on 20-inch alloy wheels with a matte Palladium finish that have been diamond-cut for an enhanced appearance. Known from the RS 4 Avant with the Competition package, these forged wheels have been optimized for weight and boast a more aggressive look due to extensive milling. Furthermore, the wheel offset has been modified from ET 22 to ET 18 to emphasize the vehicle's sporty character.
