Aston Martin Vanquish 2025: Der legendäre V12 im Zeitalter der Eleganz und Leistung
The upcoming 2025 Aston Martin Vanquish: A V12 legacy continues
Its stunning carbon fiber body turns heads wherever it goes
For some, only a V12 will do. Regardless of the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 in the DB12 delivering 680 horsepower and sounding sublime, it falls short on cylinder count for them. Hence, Aston Martin is reviving one of the automotive world's most iconic names with a V12 engine: the Vanquish.
Following a six-year hiatus and an unsuccessful bid to construct a mid-engine supercar, the Aston Martin Vanquish makes a comeback, reverting to its original grand touring (GT) car essence. This audaciously sizable, potent, and opulent GT car boasts a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine, delivering 835 horsepower and capable of reaching a top speed of 345 km/h.

The engine maintains the same basic dimensions as the existing Aston V12, however, it has undergone significant revisions compared to its predecessor. To boost both power and torque – an impressive 1,000 Newton-meters – and to comply with increasingly stringent emission regulations, the V12 engine has been equipped with a new engine block, heads, ports, camshafts, connecting rods, turbochargers, fuel injectors, and repositioned spark plugs. Essentially, it's been revamped in its entirety. According to Aston, the engine is indistinguishable from its previous version.
Similar to the previous DBS Superleggera, the engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission located at the rear, yet like the latest Vantage and DB12, it comes equipped with an electronically controlled limited-slip differential.
With an output of 160 horsepower per liter, this engine boasts the most significant specific power ever achieved by an Aston Martin V12. As a result, the Vanquish 2024 marks the pinnacle of a consistent progression. Since the debut of the DB7 Vantage in 1999, the performance and torque figures for Aston Martin's V12 marquee models have doubled.

The latest V12 engine boasts several technical advancements, including a reinforced cylinder block and rods, redesigned cylinder heads with reshaped camshafts, and fresh intake and exhaust ports. The repositioned spark plugs and new fuel injectors with an increased flow rate enhance combustion, leading to top-of-the-class power and heightened efficiency. Additionally, new turbochargers with greater rotational speed and reduced inertia contribute to a power boost and more responsive throttle.
Intricately, the latest turbochargers have been installed, featuring a diminished moment of inertia and an increased rotation speed by 15%, enhancing the energy harnessing from exhaust gases, boosting engine performance, and elevating the novel V12 engine to an advanced level of power. Additionally, newly designed fuel injectors with a 10% increased flow rate have been integrated, allowing the engine to attain its peak power while simultaneously meeting emission standards.
The engine also includes a new feature called Boost Reserve, which allows for an increase in turbo pressure beyond what is necessary for partial throttle, ensuring that when a driver needs extra power, it's readily available. This is achieved through precise coordination between the throttle valve and the electronically controlled wastegate. Aston Martin states that the final drive ratio has been selected to allow for a high top speed, while still providing robust acceleration – achieving 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds.
Like all contemporary Aston Martin models, the Vanquish features a bonded and extruded aluminum monocoque chassis. However, unlike the DB12 and Vantage, the majority of its body is composed of carbon fiber. Aston Martin states the Vanquish's dry weight is 1,774 kilograms. The vehicle is equipped with a customized set of Pirelli P-Zero tires, with dimensions of 275/35 at the front and 325/30 at the rear. The standard package also includes forged wheels and carbon-ceramic brakes, which help to reduce unsprung weight.
In addition, there is an abundance of sophisticated suspension technology. The Vanquish is equipped with Bilstein DTX dampers, similar to those in the new Vantage and the DB12, and features a six-axis inertial measurement unit that allows for more accurate control of the dampers, the electronic differential, and the traction/stability control systems. There's also an innovative feature called Corner Braking, which ensures the vehicle's rear stability when braking into a turn.
The interior of the Vanquish mirrors the design of recent Aston Martin vehicles, featuring a revamped central console fitted with tactile controls and a custom-designed entertainment system. Previous Aston Martin models were often criticized for their lackluster cabins, but the Vanquish's cockpit appears to be anything but dull.
When put side by side with the DB12, the Vanquish presents a more elongated, expansive, and squat profile. Its wheelbase stretches out by nearly eight centimeters, its total length extends by 16.5 centimeters, and it boasts an additional width of over six centimeters. However, its stature is diminished due to a reduction in height. It unmistakably bears the Aston signature, albeit with a more chiseled front bonnet and pronounced bulges at the rear.
The distinctive cut-off rear deck is a feature that sets this new Aston apart, drawing inspiration from a series of cars that the brand raced with at Le Mans in the 1960s—the DP212, DP214, and DP215. The silhouette and rear aspect also share similarities with the rare Valour, which itself nods to the robust GT models Aston Martin produced in the 1970s. This marks only the third occasion that Aston Martin has bestowed the Vanquish name upon one of its models.
Even in this scenario, the V12 remains present.
Aston Martin has yet to reveal the cost for their latest Vanquish model, however, it's anticipated that the starting price will be somewhere in the range of 250,000 to 300,000 Euros. The premium pricing over the other models in the same series can be attributed to the limited production run, as the company aims to manufacture just 1,000 units annually. Customers can expect the initial deliveries to commence from October 2024 onwards.
