Alpine F1 Team Ushers in New Era with Oliver Oakes as Young Team Principal

Alpine reveals Oliver Oakes as their latest Formula 1 team leader

Oliver Oakes is named as history's second-youngest principal of an F1 team.

Alpine has declared Oliver Oakes as the new principal for their Formula 1 team.

The Englishman is set to begin his tenure at Alpine after the summer hiatus, succeeding Bruno Famin who opted to resign, a decision that was made public during the Belgian Grand Prix.

In 2015, Oakes established Hitech Grand Prix, a UK-based team that has been competing at the top level of single-seater racing, participating in the leading preparatory series for Formula 1, namely Formula 2 and Formula 3.

At the age of 36, Oakes has secured the position of the second-youngest team principal in the history of Formula 1. Christian Horner still holds the record for the youngest ever appointment, having been only 31 years old when he took over the leadership of Red Bull

Oakes will be directly under the supervision of Renault Group's CEO, Luca de Meo.
