Aston Martin dismisses talk of Adrian Newey demanding a salary in the tens of millions
Aston Martin is interested in hiring Adrian Newey but "won't pay any amount"
Reportedly, Adrian Newey's salary demands are creating obstacles in the negotiations for him to join Aston Martin.
The future plans of the F1 technical mastermind are uncertain, and competitors of Red Bull are keenly watching.
According to The Telegraph, Newey demanded £25 million per year to join Aston Martin.
They assert that the amount is only 50% of what he initially requested.
According to the report, Lawrence Stroll, the billionaire owner of the F1 team, hesitated over the financial terms of the suggested agreement. Although Aston Martin is keen on hiring Red Bull's chief technical officer, they are not willing to meet any price.
According to The Telegraph, Newey recently received a guided tour of the team's new facility in Silverstone.
Aston Martin declined to provide specific remarks regarding Newey. However, a representative informed The Times, which first reported Newey's visit to the Silverstone headquarters: "The Aston Martin Aramco F1 team is an attractive initiative, driven by Lawrence Stroll's vision, featuring a cutting-edge new technology campus, and boasting exciting collaborations with Aramco and Honda."
"Numerous prominent figures from various sectors of the team are associated with the project, but there are no announcements to share at this time."
Dan Fallows, who now serves as the technical director for Stroll's team, has already transitioned from Red Bull to Aston Martin.
Stroll is eager to create a significant impact with a high-profile signing as Formula 1 approaches its new chapter.
The upcoming regulations in 2026 present a new opportunity to emerge as the leading power in the sport.
Many people think that having Newey on the team will significantly improve his employer’s chances of leading the competition.
Adrian Newey is set to leave Red Bull at the beginning of next year, allowing him to manage the 2026 design for his future team.
Although Aston Martin has been in touch with him and discussed possible salary terms, he still has alternative opportunities.
Ferrari, who has maintained a long-term interest, will also be welcoming Lewis Hamilton next year.
McLaren and Williams have also expressed interest in acquiring Newey.
