Results of the Qualifying Round for the 2024 Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix
Verstappen secures the fastest time in qualifying, but Leclerc is set to begin the race from pole position.
Leading the pack are Verstappen, Leclerc, and Perez, followed by Hamilton, Norris, and Piastri. Completing the top ten are Russell, Sainz, Alonso, and Ocon.
Leclerc moves into second place with an impressive lap; Sainz finishes in eighth.
Both Ferraris have switched to fresh intermediate tires.
The current lineup is Verstappen, Perez, Hamilton, Norris, Piastri, Russell, Sainz, Leclerc, Alonso, and Ocon.
However, a few teams have opted to pit for fresh tires. Meanwhile, Hamilton, Piastri, Russell, and Norris have chosen to remain on the track.
Verstappen clocked a time of 1 minute and 53.159 seconds, finishing 0.6 seconds faster than Perez. Hamilton secured the third position.
Hamilton clocked a time of 1 minute and 54.011 seconds, narrowly edging out Piastri by less than a tenth of a second. Russell, Norris, and Ocon rounded out the top five positions.
Intermediate tyres have been selected once more.
Both Mercedes drivers successfully navigate the course without incident.
Albon, Gasly, Ricciardo, Bottas, and Stroll have been eliminated.
With Ocon and Gasly breaking into the top 10, attention now shifts to the Mercedes duo.
Hamilton has just posted the fastest time in the middle sector.
He advances to the fourth position in the Red Bull car. With the checkered flag now waving, his position appears secure.
Daniel Ricciardo, Fernando Alonso, Pierre Gasly, Valtteri Bottas, and Lance Stroll.
He secures the third-fastest time driving the Ferrari, while Sainz takes fourth place, trailing just behind his teammate.
Driving a Mercedes, he clocks the fourth-fastest time, trailing Verstappen by 0.9 seconds.
The two Ferrari cars have now fallen into the elimination area.

The list includes Verstappen, Norris, Albon, Piastri, Ocon, Perez, Ricciardo, Alonso, Hamilton, and Sainz.
Currently eliminated in Q2: Russell, Gasly, Leclerc, Bottas, and Stroll.
With a time of 1 minute 54.459 seconds, he is 0.3 seconds faster than Albon. However, Verstappen is poised to take the lead.
