Valtteri Bottas Optimistic About 2025 F1 Seat Amid Carlos Sainz Decision Delay
Valtteri Bottas is optimistic about landing a spot for the 2025 Formula 1 season, despite the delay involving Carlos Sainz.
Valtteri Bottas asserts he is "well-placed" to land a spot on the 2025 Formula 1 roster, despite the prolonged period he has spent waiting for Carlos Sainz to make a choice.
The Formula 1 driver market is in a state of suspension while Sainz considers his three potential choices.
Carlos Sainz moving to Alpine, Williams, or Sauber will significantly impact drivers such as Valtteri Bottas, Esteban Ocon, and others as the last available spots in the lineup are claimed.
It is reported that Bottas is a potential candidate to join either the Alpine or Williams team, with Sainz's choice significantly influencing the Finn's future destination.
In a statement before the upcoming British Grand Prix this weekend, with Crash.net reporters on site in the paddock, Bottas expressed his confidence regarding his future in Formula 1.
"Yes, but I believe that things are beginning to move forward and come together, hopefully in a positive direction," he remarked. "However, there's still nothing official to announce and no agreements have been finalized."
"I believe I'm in a strong spot. Fortunately, some individuals in the paddock are still aware of my abilities and strengths that make me a valuable team member. However, it does take time to finalize everything."
Bottas denied any claims of being annoyed about having to wait for Sainz.
When questioned by Crash.net, he remarked, "It's not frustrating; it's actually thrilling. This is just part of the sport, and we're still in July. I've experienced scenarios like this before."
“I had to wait until September or October. Therefore, I believe we are still in a good position.”
"If you were to ask me in October about being in this scenario, it might begin to feel frustrating, but in July, it’s not really an issue."
Regarding the wait for Sainz, he commented: "Yes, occasionally that's just the way it happens. As I pointed out last week, in this sport, it's not solely about sheer performance."
"Several factors influence the team's priorities. It's all part of the process."
Bottas is optimistic that his plans for the future will be finalized before the summer break at the end of July.
"The aim is to accomplish it earlier. I believe that's probable and feasible. That's our goal," he finished.
