Tragedy Strikes School in Eastern China: 11 Dead as Bus Plows into Crowd Amid New Safety Measures
Five children and six adults have perished in eastern China when a bus plowed into a crowd outside a school. Following the incident, where 11 people lost their lives and many others were injured, the bus driver has been taken into custody by the police. This tragic event occurred shortly after national media shared new policies intended to protect students.
On Tuesday morning, a bus collided with a group of people in front of a middle school in Eastern China, resulting in the deaths of 11 individuals and injuries to 24 others.
State-run television CCTV reported that the accident happened at approximately 7 a.m. in front of Foshan Junior High School located in Dongping County, Shandong Province, on the second day back at school.
According to the report, the injured were transported to the hospital.
According to Dongping police, the tragic incident resulted in the deaths of six parents and five students. Additionally, one individual sustained severe injuries, while 12 others are reported to be in stable condition. The status of the remaining victims has not been disclosed.
Authorities reported that a school bus, which was used to transport students, lost control as it neared an intersection and collided with a group of people. The bus driver has been taken into custody, and an investigation into the incident is currently underway.
