Tragedy Strikes Eastern China: 11 Dead as School Bus Plows into Crowd Outside Junior High
Five children and six adults have perished in eastern China following a tragic incident where a bus plowed into a crowd outside a school. The driver has been taken into custody by authorities after the accident, which resulted in 11 fatalities and numerous injuries, occurring shortly after government outlets detailed new safety protocols for protecting students.
On Tuesday morning, a bus plowed into a group of people outside a middle school in Eastern China, resulting in 11 deaths and 24 injuries.
State media CCTV reported that an accident took place at approximately 7 a.m. in front of Foshan Junior High School in Dongping County, Shandong Province, on the second day of the school year.
According to the report, those injured were transported to the hospital.
According to Dongping police, the tragic incident resulted in the deaths of six parents and five students. Additionally, one individual sustained severe injuries, whereas 12 others are reported to be in stable condition. The status of the remaining victims has not been disclosed.
Authorities reported that the transportation involved was a school bus assigned to ferry students. It was near an intersection when it went out of control and collided with a group of people. Law enforcement has taken the driver into custody, and an investigation into the incident is currently underway.
