Tragedy Strikes Eastern China: 11 Dead as School Bus Plows into Crowd Outside Junior High
Five children and six adults have perished in eastern China when a bus plowed into a group of people outside a school. Following the incident, which left several others injured, the bus driver was taken into custody by the police. This tragic event occurred shortly after national media highlighted new safety protocols intended to protect students.
A bus collided with a group of people outside a middle school in East China on Tuesday morning, resulting in the deaths of 11 individuals and injuries to 24 others.
State media outlet CCTV reported that an accident took place at approximately 7 a.m. outside Foshan Junior High School located in Dongping County, Shandong Province, on the second day of the school year.
According to the report, the injured were transported to the hospital.
According to Dongping police, the tragic incident resulted in the deaths of six parents and five students. Additionally, one individual sustained severe injuries, whereas twelve others are currently in stable condition. The status of the remaining victims has not yet been disclosed.
Authorities reported that the vehicle involved was a school bus assigned to transport students. It went out of control as it neared an intersection and collided with a group of people. Police have taken the driver into custody, and an investigation into the incident is currently underway.
