Tragedy Strikes Eastern China: 11 Dead as Bus Plows into School Crowd, Driver Detained
In eastern China, a tragic incident occurred outside a school when a bus plowed into a crowd, resulting in the deaths of five children and six adults. Following the crash, which also left many injured, the bus driver was taken into custody by the police. This incident happened shortly after national media highlighted new safety protocols designed to protect students.
On Tuesday morning in eastern China, a bus collided with a group of people outside a middle school, resulting in 11 fatalities and 24 injuries.
State media outlet CCTV reported that the accident happened at about 7am near Foshan Junior High School in Dongping County, Shandong Province, on the second day of the school year.
According to the report, the injured were transported to the hospital.
According to Dongping police, the tragic incident resulted in the deaths of six parents and five students. Additionally, one individual sustained serious injuries, while 12 others are reported to be in stable condition. The status of other victims involved remains unclear.
According to police, the vehicle involved was a school bus tasked with transporting students. It lost control as it neared an intersection and collided with a group of people. Authorities have taken the driver into custody, and an investigation into the incident is underway.
