Toto Wolff's candid revelation regarding Lewis Hamilton's potential move to Ferrari
"People alter their decisions and situations evolve"
Toto Wolff has acknowledged that Lewis Hamilton is capable of securing an unprecedented F1 title with Ferrari.
Hamilton is entering his last season with Mercedes before joining forces with the most accomplished team in Formula 1 history.
Wolff, his present supervisor, is aware that Hamilton, who will be his competitor in the future, has the potential to achieve success once more
"Wolff conveyed to the PA news agency that if Ferrari provides Lewis with a car capable of competing, he has the potential to secure a world championship."
"Undoubtedly."
"My bond with Lewis will forever remain personal, and I'll cherish the wonderful moments we shared, both in our professional and private lives.
"When Lewis switches to Ferrari, he'll be a rival, but I'll always hope he has good times."
The latest season of Netflix's 'Drive To Survive' featured Wolff and Hamilton talking about their partnership at Mercedes.
Wolff expressed his inability to envision Hamilton in red, just before the racer inked a fresh deal with Mercedes.
Hamilton later announced his plans to end his time with Mercedes early in favor of joining Ferrari in 2025.
When questioned about his remark regarding Hamilton donning red, Wolff responded, "That's what he told me."
"He mentioned his intention to remain, but later chose to leave."
"However, individuals often alter their decisions and situations evolve, and it's important to acknowledge and accept this."
"My views today could change by tomorrow, and it doesn't bother me."
Hamilton hasn't clinched a Formula 1 race victory since the year 2021.
Mercedes has faced three consecutive years of misfortune, failing to secure any victories since 2022, with George Russell's last win in Brazil.
Hamilton currently trails his teammate Russell in qualifying matchups this year, with a score of 7-1, a fact that caused him considerable annoyance during the previous F1 Monaco Grand Prix.
Hamilton finds himself unable to challenge Max Verstappen's supremacy as long as he remains with Mercedes, but a fresh start awaits him next year.
