Monza Paddock Buzz: Daniel Ricciardo’s F1 Future in Jeopardy Amid Red Bull Rumors
Insiders suggest that there's a widespread belief Daniel Ricciardo will be ousted from his Formula 1 position
New speculations arise indicating that Daniel Ricciardo's career in Formula 1 may soon come to an end
Ted Kravitz has suggested that there is a general expectation for Daniel Ricciardo to be dropped from his 2025 F1 seat with Red Bull Racing.
A murmur emerged from within the Monza paddock during the Italian Grand Prix last weekend.
Ricciardo has candidly discussed the possibility of losing his seat for the upcoming season.
Sky Sports' Kravitz speculated in Italy, asking, "Will Red Bull make a driver announcement before the Azerbaijan Grand Prix?"
“We are all anticipating it. Ricciardo essentially hinted at it on Thursday.
"Will the upcoming driver announcement reveal that Liam Lawson will team up with Yuki Tsunoda next year?"
"That is what people anticipate."
The news is a tough setback for Ricciardo.
His contract expires at the conclusion of this season, and there are only two open spots left in the 2025 Formula 1 driver roster.
RB (Ricciardo’s current team) and Sauber are in discussions about their driver line-ups for the upcoming season.
Helmut Marko, a key figure at Red Bull, has recently increased the stakes for Ricciardo by affirming that their backup driver, Lawson, will definitely secure a race seat for the 2025 season
Everything indicated that Lawson would take over Ricciardo's position.
However, Christian Horner explained that Marko's comment did not mean Lawson would definitely be driving for either of their teams.
During last weekend's event in Monza, Ricciardo stated that he has not experienced any undue pressure.
"I've never experienced someone grabbing my shoulder and forcing me into a room with an ultimatum."
"I understand what is necessary. Perhaps there's no need for harsh words. I've been acquainted with Helmut for a long time. We all are aware of what needs to be done."
"Has he imposed additional stress or acted unfairly towards me? No."
"I don't experience any extra emotions because of it. However, I am aware of what is necessary."
Daniel Ricciardo made contact with Nico Hulkenberg from the Haas team and received two time penalties during the Italian Grand Prix, ultimately finishing in a disappointing 13th place.
He will be driving the RB once more in Baku, even though there were speculations in Monza about a potential midseason replacement.
However, Ricciardo may have missed his chance to win over Red Bull executives sufficiently to secure a new deal.
