Criticism directed at Marc Marquez by MotoGP enthusiasts 'enters one ear and exits the other'
"Someone who takes joy in someone else's downfall is truly miserable in their own life"
Marc Marquez has addressed the jeers he faced while on the podium at the MotoGP San Marino Grand Prix, stating that he now simply lets it "go in one ear and out the other".
The eight-time world champion has frequently faced criticism from fans at various locations, particularly in Italy, due to a rift with MotoGP icon Valentino Rossi that emerged during the 2015 season.

Following his victory at the San Marino GP for Gresini Ducati last weekend, the Spanish rider encountered boos from a portion of the audience while on the podium.
Defending world champion Francesco Bagnaia, who finished second, expressed his disapproval of the crowd's actions by shaking his finger at them.
During his appearance on El Larguero, Marquez mentioned that he is no longer affected by the booing and considers it a natural aspect of sports.
"Marquez started, 'There's a point where it goes in one ear and out the other.'"
"Particularly since there reaches a point where an individual who finds joy in someone else's downfall is actually quite discontented with their own life.
"There's no necessity for your happiness to hinge on or mirror someone else's downfall."
"Success is irrelevant; allow the individual to achieve it regardless."
"Your moment will arrive, though these occurrences have always been a part of sports, embodying both its challenges and its essence."
"In this scenario, the athlete must understand how to handle it in a way that minimizes its impact on them."
Gresini team leader Nadia Padovani expressed her disapproval of the negative reception her rider received while on the podium at Misano.
The Gresini team, located in the Emilia Romagna area and having faced several hardships in the past, believes that the reaction Marquez got was also "painful" for the team.
"She mentioned to Il Resto del Carlino that the jeering from certain fans was also painful for them, given that they are a team representing Emilia Romagna."
"We've endured much following the passing of [Daijiro] Kato, [Marco] Simoncelli, and Fausto [Gresini], and we didn't merit this."
This weekend, the MotoGP is set to make its comeback at Misano for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, with Marquez aiming to secure his third consecutive win of the 2024 season and decrease his 53-point gap in the championship rankings.
