Inside the 2024 Cupra Terramar: A Detailed Look at the Interior of Cupra’s Largest SUV Yet
Cupra Terramar (2024): A Detailed Look Inside the New SUV
Cupra's largest model echoes the design elements of its siblings, while incorporating a significant amount of Volkswagen Group technology.
Cupra has recently introduced a new addition to their lineup, the Terramar, which stands as the brand's largest SUV hailing from Barcelona. Measuring at 4.52 meters in length, it surpasses the Formentor in size, and offers engines ranging from gasoline to plug-in hybrids with outputs from 150 to 272 horsepower.
So far, there's no diesel model available, but the Terramar will be constructed alongside the new Audi Q3 in Hungary moving forward. As for the interior? It's not lacking in updates, yet it still retains the traditional Cupra sense of family.

Cupra Terramar: The Dashboard
The dashboard design strongly echoes that of other models from the brand, similar to the recent updates seen in the Formentor and Leon. The top layer, complete with an LED strip, dominates the upper section of the dashboard, while the second layer features a brushed aluminum element that houses the air conditioning vents. Below that, a 12.9-inch infotainment screen takes its place on the third level.
The latter, including the contentious touch strip at the bottom, has already been seen in other Volkswagen Group models such as the Golf, Tiguan, or the Skoda Octavia.
The steering wheel design is consistent with other models from Cupra, but the central console introduces significant updates. The Terramar features reconfigured storage compartments and glovebox offering more space compared to previous models, and it adopts a rotary gear selector positioned behind the steering wheel, akin to the one found in the latest Tiguan, replacing the mini gear lever for automatic transmission.
Here, the gear selector lever is clearly visible on the right side behind the steering wheel.
Inside the Cupra Terramar, one can expect a luxurious and eco-friendly environment: Customizable ambient lighting graces the front section, and the athletic-styled seating is made from eco-conscious materials.
The seats are made from polymer fiber materials, which were created in partnership with Seaqual, a company that collaborates with fishermen, NGOs, and local communities to repurpose waste materials from the Mediterranean Sea. They have a soft and well-crafted feel, much like the door panels that are coated with a soft layer. However, the plastics at the bottom of the doors and along the center tunnel are harder to the touch.
Cupra Terramar: Space on the Inside
The Terramar's interior feels more spacious, thanks to its additional seven centimeters in both length and height compared to the Formentor. This extra space is especially noticeable for rear-seat passengers, who benefit from increased legroom, further enhanced by the ability to adjust the rear bench a few centimeters forward or back. Even taller passengers will find ample space between their head and the roof, ensuring a comfortable ride.
Those seated in the center, however, must always contend with a minor step that encroaches on some legroom.
The trunk space is ample, ranging from 540 to 630 liters for the standard Terramar with a combustion engine. In contrast, the plug-in hybrid versions offer a slightly smaller capacity, from 400 to 490 liters, which can vary based on the rear seat arrangement. The Cupra Terramar is already listed in the German configurator, though not all engine options are available yet. Pricing starts at 43,020 euros for the 1.5 eTSI model that delivers 150 horsepower.
