Chinese teams to probe allegations of tainted goji berries
National media reveals illegal substance use to enhance the appearance and durability of the berries
Officials in Golmud, located in Qinghai province, and in Jingyuan county in Gansu province announced on Monday the establishment of dedicated task forces to probe into the matter.
"The findings of the investigation and the management of the case will be disclosed to the public promptly," stated the officials from Golmud.
"Individuals accountable for the crimes will face strict penalties under the law."
The food safety committee in Jingyuan released a comparable announcement.
