Adrian Newey’s Astonishing Aston Martin Deal: Earning More Than 18 F1 Drivers Combined
Unveiled: Adrian Newey Commands a Higher Aston Martin Paycheck Than 18 Formula 1 Racers
Adrian Newey's Earnings Surpass Those of All But Two Formula 1 Competitors
Aston Martin's rumored salary for Adrian Newey is said to exceed the earnings of 18 F1 drivers.
The departing chief technology officer from Red Bull is highly sought after, yet Aston Martin has emerged victorious in securing his services, according to the BBC.
According to the BBC, Newey is set to receive an annual salary of £30 million, with additional incentives and bonuses included, under a five-year contract with Aston Martin.
This implies that only Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen are confirmed to have higher earnings than he does.
Starting in 2025, Hamilton is set to receive an annual salary of £43 million from Ferrari, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport.
Verstappen continues under a Red Bull agreement that Forbes valued at £34 million annually in their estimation last year.
The remaining 18 racers, such as Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll from Aston Martin, are expected to receive a lower salary than the automotive design mastermind, Newey.
Double Formula 1 titleholder Alonso, set to join forces with Newey in an eagerly anticipated pairing from 2025, has recently inked a fresh deal with Aston Martin, thus the details of his current compensation remain undisclosed.
Forbes calculated that Alonso earned £18 million during his initial season at Aston Martin.
The ranking of F1 driver earnings is highlighted by the substantial amount allocated to Newey.
His understanding is considered vital in the ongoing technological battle within Formula 1.
Starting in 2026, the latest Formula 1 rules will take effect, potentially leading to a reign of supremacy for the team that engineers the superior engine.
Newey will be available to guide the development of Aston Martin's vehicle, potentially playing a crucial role in their quest to dominate Formula 1.
