The leading theoretical publication of the Communist Party has emphasized the danger posed by "destructive" "foreign entities" aiming to sway the minds of Chinese young people, by sharing parts of a discourse delivered by Chinese President Xi Jinping six years earlier.
During his address at the 2018 National Education Conference, Xi criticized certain groups for attempting to "Westernize" Chinese youth and orchestrating a "color revolution." He emphasized the importance of ideological education in schools.
